THE CHECK IN EXPERIENCE...
ALAS THE LACK OF COMMON SENSE AND COURTESY

S Badrinarayana

Recently while checking in at Jaipur with a return ticket of Delhi-Jaipur, Jaipur-Delhi, the guy at the counter after a few minutes on entering the PNR returned the ticket saying that the payment has not been made and was adamant. He glibly said despite having a ticket with ticket number in hand, that the issue of PNR does not mean it has been paid for.

He does not see the ticket number that is printed which happens only after the payment has been made nor the fact that with the same ticket we have already travelled one sector Delhi-Jaipur. I had to respond in anger that he needs to throw the system out, as how could we travel one sector and how could Kingfisher issue a ticket with ticket number when a payment is not made. The guy slowly then checked it out realized his folly and then tested our patience by taking more than 20 minutes to issue the tickets and did not even bother to say sorry for his mistake. At the same time when we got the through ticket from Bengaluru to Jaipur, the girl at the counter kept saying sorry as she was taking more time than normal- what a contrast and she was so helpful.
