Business Alignment is a function of Organization Alignment and Business Strategy

As early as the mid 1960’s, Emery and Trist (1965) and Katz & Kahn (1978) have speculated that the external environment of the organization has an impact on the internal organization. Too often the Visioning processes at the stakeholder level are not aligned to the institution building processes across the organization, and consequently the one or the other get experienced as not relevant, non-evocative, and devoid of meaning or value. The emergent values in action do not converge with espoused values impacting human energy within the organization.
