A key stakeholder within FLAME TAO Knoware is an academic and action research institution - F.L.A.M.E. or Foundation for Liberal and Management Education based in Pune.

FLAME is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2004, with the objective of creating a world-class institution of higher learning that is grounded in Indian values. FLAME will begin its four-year under-graduate Liberal Education program and a two year Graduate School of Business by July 2007.

As an educational foundation, FLAME will create the infrastructure and provide the resources for research, learning, and training students at the highest standards. The idea behind FLAME is to help students go beyond the traditional ways of learning. It aims to provide an environment that helps a student question and challenge oneself, to discover one’s own potential and evolve into responsible global citizen.

The School of Liberal Education caters to every aspect of a student’s requirement for overall and well-rounded growth.

The School of Business is to equip students with required conceptual and inter-personal skills along with a sense of social purpose for managerial decision making. In addition it seeks to develop entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities in students, enabling them to respond to change.

FLAME as an institution is pioneering liberal education in India, and significantly adds to the strengths of FLAME TAO in anchoring, evolving, and managing knowledge creation and original thought.

FLAME TAO and FLAME are establishing a Knowledge Center promoting Organization Development Programs, the first being offered is the Diploma Program in Lean Management.
