In a tea plantation the workmen were facing a continuous problem of rats
nibbling away at the (drip) PVC pipelines connected to various plants for drip
irrigation. The pipes needed continuous replacement and were a nuisance. So
one day the workmen got together and brainstormed as to why the rats were
nibbling away at the pipeline. They finally emerged with the theory that the
only reason could be water in the pipelines. Then they came up with a bright
idea to keep water at strategic locations. They then took coconut shells (half
rounded) filled it up with water and tried the idea. They kept vigil and it
worked! The rats drank water from the shells and the pipes were no longer
nibbled at.
